band - Starroy 3.4.07 review of "Ocho For Willow"

-Randy Mallett, BANNEDPROMOTIONS.com

Not too often can I hear twenty minutes of a jam band and still hold my interest, much less

an entire cd. I'm not saying Starroy is a jam band, which they may very well claim to be,

but when half your songs are over six minutes in length (and vocals are kept to a minimum),

you start getting the 'jam band' monikers. With that said,I actually enjoyed this cd

tremendously, which makes me wonder if I should change the whole 'jam band' thing.

Maybe their not a 'jam band' at all. Maybe they're the best jam band I've ever heard? Ok,

I think I've said 'jam band' too much...

Ocho For Willow is an ultimate, eclectic mix of originality combined

with the influence of rock, blues, soul, and jazz. Superior musicianship

is prevelant throughout the entire album, possibly due to the fact that Starroy is known so well

for their constant touring. Recorded at Fox Mountain Studios in Nashville, TN, the band's long-anticipated release of their debut cd, came at the hands of several months of sweat, determination, and drive. From June to December of '06, Starroy developed an astonishing portrayal of the band's sound and image, which has, in the very least, captured the attention of thousands.

With such highlights as Knumb, New Day, The Spot, and Willow, the cd is sure to turn the heads of like-minded consumers. Spawning years of hard work and live performances, the band's recent effort is a timeless, carefully-constructed masterpiece.

Ocho For Willow is the perfect example of what a band can accomplish with a little bit of dilligence,

dedication, and patience. Whether you want to call them a 'jam band' or not, you can't deny the talent and professionalism. Please, do me a favor and click on the album cover above, buy the cd, and decide for yourself. You won't be disappointed. It will soon be ripped to my computer, so hopefully I'll be enjoying it for years to come.

I'm thinking track five for my mp3 player...
